Evidentemente, dopo aver rotto negli ultimi mesi i rapporti con tutte le persone che frequentavamo insieme, invitavamo abitualmente a mangiare e dormire a casa nostra ed eravamo ospiti a casa loro (incluse persone che mi aveva presentato lei in quanto suoi amici), XXX ha approfondito la confidenza con altre persone, alle quali ha potuto rappresentare la sua storiella, senza il rischio di un contradditorio da parte mia e senza doversi contraddire in quello che era sempre apparso evidente a chi invece frequentava la nostra famiglia.

As a Dutch native speaker based in Italy since 2004, I provide Italian-Dutch and English-Dutch translations and proofreading. I have a master's degree (University of Utrecht) and over ten years of experience as a professional translator.
After working as international customer relationship manager in the IT and banking sector for several years, I met my Italian wife and we decided to move to Rome. I started working as a translator, first as an in-house translator for an important Italian news agency and later as a freelance translator.
Living in Italy for over 12 years has made me fluent in Italian. I do all kinds of translations, but one of my specialisations is food and drink. My translations in this field include:

Other fields in which I have gained much experience are technical manuals, tourist information/booking websites, movies/television and science.
Understanding the source language perfectly is key to a good translation and to learn the language, there is no substitute for living in the country for several years. I always try to provide translations that are easy to read, without making things more complicated than they are: no-nonsense translations is my motto.
