Not extremely naive

I am not ‘not sure’ or otherwise naive about “what any hackers would do with Proz credentials [to all of us], though.” as has been said here earlier.
In this respect you are quite right. Of course Proz credentials can be abused for several things. What "has been said here earlier" is extremely naive. But as https is used ...
There is nothing naive in wondering what a hacker would use stolen Proz credentials for. It's not as if they could use them to empty a bank account or commit other serious crimes. The intention was to introduce a bit of moderation instead of succumbing to security hysteria. Of course such credentials could be abused. I never said anything else. But we're not talking about certainty or near certainty that such credentials will be stolen if they are passed through just http instead of the secure https due to the invalid certificate. A few years ago, http was all we had. You may as well be afraid of being murdered or robbed every time you open your front door because the space outside is not secure, not to forget the risk of injury, death and disaster everywhere in daily traffic. Scared to death of living.
There is a risk involved in everything. Let's not descend into security hysteria where every action that isn't optimally secured must be avoided at all cost. I personally wouldn't worry about using Wikiwords without https until the problem is fixed, but I don't use the same password for more than one site, so I know it's limited how much harm the unlikely theft of one password can cause.
And I respectfully suggest the simple exercise of thinking before accusing others of being extremely naive.
