Catalan to English translations [PRO]
Agriculture / Fertilizer
Catalan term or phrase: formiguer
procediment tradicional d'adob.

This is a photo caption for a coffee table book about the woodlands of the Balearics - so there's no more context, I'm afraid.
http://jaumegri.blogspot.com/2006/08/abonado-ecologico.html gives an excellent explanation (below), but I can't find the right term in English - yet:
FORMIGUERS

Notes to answerer
Asker: Alistair, Thank you for bothering. But I gave a similar explanation in the text I handed back before Xmas. I was hoping that a Pro translator would be able to help me out with just one word. I fear this word does not exist: your note seems to confirm this.
