country risk / country-specific risk Explanation: Hi, Berni. It's no doubt a calque of the Spanish term "riesgo país", which means "country risk". I've also seen it as "country-specific risk". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country_risk A couple of examples: "These internal ratings take into consideration factors such as any deterioration in country risk, industry, and technological obsolescence, as well as identified structural weaknesses or deterioration in cash flows." http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:C:2... "After coming under pressure late last year, the peso has been appreciating again in recent months and capital inflows have resumed, while yields and country risk have stabilized near pre-crisis levels." http://www.imf.org/external/np/sec/pn/2009/pn09127.htm -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 mins (2012-06-20 17:54:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I'd like to add that the correct term in Catalan is "risc de país". |
