Medical - Medical: Health Care
Catalan term or phrase: habitatges tutelats
This is from a document from the Generalitat describing the requirements to be officialy registered one of the three things listed below - which I have as :
acolliment residencial - residential care (centre)
centre de dia - day centre
habitatge tutelat - assited living centre (maybe supervised flats is better/correct?)

I have also found this here at Proz:
Piso tutelado - supervised flats

I wasn't sure about the use of "supervised flats".

Here is the text:

The big problem I have is that later in the document it says : Protocol de neteja (opcional en habitatge tutelat). I don't see how maid/cleaning service could be optional with supervised flats for the elderly. Is that right? I have no experience here.

sheltered housing
Explanation:
Normally refers to flats in a building where there is a warden or similar person around to provide help if needed and keep an eye on things.

Explanation:
Assisted living center sounds right to me. Maybe they list it as optional because it's an extra fee? I imagine there are people there with different levels of mobility/independence.

independent living communities

Explanation:
It's not quite assisted living…see these descriptions of each type of housing:

I think "independent living" is roughly equivalent:
http://www.helpguide.org/elder/independent_living_seniors_re...

Among the many senior housing options available, Independent Living provides the greatest versatility and freedom. Independent Living for seniors refers to residence in a compact, easy-to-maintain, private apartment or house within a community of seniors. Any housing arrangement designed exclusively for seniors (generally those age 55+; in some cases the age requirement is 62+) may be classified as an Independent Living community.

As the name implies, Independent Living is just that: the ability to maintain one's residence and lifestyle without custodial or medical assistance. If custodial or medical care becomes necessary, residents in Independent Living for seniors are permitted to bring in outside services of their choice.

Some communities include full-time directors for social or recreational services, while others offer only informal activities. Some facilities even have a social worker on staff to assist in contacting agencies that provide medical or personal care. Many also are gated communities with their own security guards.
