Food & Drink / corn masa
English term or phrase: tip cap fraction
This is from a description how to make corn masa (maisdeeg), and one of the ingredients is the corn tip cap fraction. Has anyone got an idea what the "tip cap" of a piece of corn is? It is not the "kiem" or the "schil" as they have already been mentioned! Hopefully there are some foodies out there!

Thank you very much for your help and the information you sent. However, it is not "pluimpje" but the bit where the corn kernel is connected to the cob. I have translated it as "korrelpunt" with a note to the client and have not heard anything back so assume it might be right.
