English term or phrase: Auto-crime
Auto-crime is not only the title of the article, it is also used in the article itself.

This is the whole article:

Auto-crime
During the past five years the auto-crime rate – the jargon for car offences – has been rising at over ten per cent a year. The statistics are frightening: almost every minute of every day a car – left, sometimes for no more than a few minutes – is broken into. Top money-spinner is the theft and sale of car audio equipment. However, the haul will include anything of value left in the car, such as cameras, clothing, vehicle documents, sports gear, money.
You can minimise the risk of car-crime by parking in a well-trafficked road or in other areas less likely to be visited by thieves. Joy-riders are inclined to go for vehicles parked near pubs and discos, so that’s another stay-away place.
Secondly, there is a large array of car anti-theft devices, from the simple pendulum device that detects violent movement to the car to the more sophisticated electricity-detection contrivance which notices electrical signals and then emits a siren sound.
A lot of anti-theft measures are all about showing that you mean business. Display-stickers that come with the code-protected radios help to show potential thieves that you are no soft option. They will pass your car by; after all, there’s always some other person who has left the car in a quiet spot, unprotected and with valuables in sight.

voertuigcriminaliteit
Explanation:
