sheeting angle hoek van de schoot Explanation: You need to know the jib's chord length at your tightest sheeting angle and the chord length at the widest sheeting angle that you intend to tack through. http://www.blumhorst.com/potterpages/Photopoint/0006/aindex.... With no tension on the fair lead control line, the running block has no influence on the sheeting angle (sail fully unfurled) … changing the sheeting angle is a function of the fair lead block’s position on the track, as usual. http://www.seidelmann-owners.com/jib_fairlead_system.htm Een leioog is een verplaatsbaar blok op een rail waardoor de fokke- of genuaschoot loopt.

Sheet is loefschoot of lijschoot. Zie ook nog: http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166314 If you only have the option of one point to lead the sheet to then the standard solution, assuming the jib has pannels, is to follow the line of seam where the pannels join, through the clew to the deck or capping rail and put the fairlead there. This should keep both the foot and the leach tight when the sail is sheeted in. However in different wind strengths and points of sailing the sail will benefit from different sheeting positions. The ideal solution is to use a track so that you can adjust the position of the fairlead to suit. Also the capping rail is unlikely to be the ideal distance from the centreline to create the best slot between the main and the jib. Ook nog dit: You would hope the builder would have set up the leads for optimum performance. However all too often they are set where it is easiest to mount the tracks. Add to this that you have probably changes sails, and therefore cut, since the boat was built and there is a good chance that you may benefit from altering the athwartships angling. Note however that the maximum benefit from sheet angling you can get is to get the forward/aft position right. This controls twist more than anything ... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2012-09-03 16:40:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- (Ik was met dit antwoord bezig tegelijkertijd met het 1e antwoord dat ik nog niet had gezien.
