Science - Botany / CITES list of trees used for timber
English term or phrase: live
Guatemalan Fir
Trade
This species is listed in Appendix I / Annex A and international trade in wild-sourced specimens for commercial purposes is prohibited. Commercial trade in artificially propagated specimens is permitted. Domestic use of this species accounts for the majority trade. The CITES Trade Database indicates little or no international trade with a small number of wild-collected specimens (fruit, //////live//////, seeds) exported from Guatemala and Mexico to the EU (Denmark) for scientific purposes.
As an Appendix I / Annex A listed species there is no annotation therefore all parts and derivatives, live or dead, are regulated.

From a CITES lists on endangered species of plants.
This particular paragraph deals with the current trade status of this particular tree.

I am unsure as to the meaning of "live" here being on its own between fruit and seeds; i.e. "fruit,...... graines" for the French.

I am tempted to understand "live specimen" but your confirmation or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

Notes to answerer

Explanation:
comma-separated!

some specimens of the fir are wild-collected (fruit, live, seeds)

live specimen = digging seedling

personne ne ramasserait des "graines mortes" pour reproduire un arbre - c'est un non-sens. "Seeds" = graines "actives".
