During a brief appearance in White Plains Federal Court Monday, Thomas appeared lucid and answered Judge Paul Davison’s questions. • What the PM and his hate mongering supporters cannot stomach is that people of all faiths are part of this agitation, and they are not pleading on behalf of any particular community, they are simply empowering the truth. No  B D Finch: "Hate mongering" is used in a subtly different way to "inciting hatred" (which would be "inciter à la haine") in English. It is more rhetorical and informal in register.//It's easy to find examples of translations that ignore register or are poor quality.

-> I found plenty of examples of hate mongering being inciter à la haine. Ou synonyme fomenter, attiser etc. Being fluent in the target language helps too.

No  Tiffany H-F: "Incitation" is correct but used as a noun. The verbal form sounds less natural than "attiser"

Yes  Elisabeth Richard: Les exemples donnés (bien qu'étant dans deux cas sur trois des noms, et non des verbes) me semblent être d'un registre tout-à-fait équivalent à cette proposition.
