Music / droits d'auteur dans le domaine musical
English term or phrase: piano copies
c'est l'annexe d'un contrat qui traite du partage des droits d'auteur pour la musique originale d'une série (entre le" Compositeur "et le "Producteur")
"Songwriter Royalties.
Producer shall pay Composer royalties as set forth in this Exhibit:
Piano Copies and Printed Copies.
Composer will be paid:
United States and Canada
- Eight percent (8%) of the retail price excluding tax for each piano copy of the Score and for each dance orchestration of the Score printed, published and sold in the United States or Canada by ......."
j'ai trouvé cette définition :"Piano copies" have only one song, usually a piano/vocal arrangement.", ce qui semble correspondre, dans la mesure où mon texte précise plus loin:
"...except that in the event the Score is used in whole or in part in conjunction with one or more other musical compositions in a folio, songbook or other publication"
j'ai donc cerné ce dont il s'agit mais je n'ai pas de terme français...

  • If you're preparing a piano copy for performance, show the pianist what the melody is, even if he won;t be playing it.

Note to reference poster
Asker: je comprend maintenant, c'est une version "simplifiée"de la partition pour être jouée par un simple piano au lieu d'un orchestre; donc "réduction pour piano" me semble ok

agree  claude-andrew: The French website gives "réduction pour piano" and this is confirmed in https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcription_(musique)

Reference: Piano copy = adapted version of sheet music

Reference information:
It looks like a "piano copy" is a version of the sheet music adapted for a pianist to accompany a vocalist. That version would not include the part of the melody that the vocalist will be singing. If the pianist were performing the song as an instrumental, that part WOULD be included.

There's a discussion here, and towards the end someone uses the term ("If you're preparing a piano copy for performance, show the pianist what the melody is, even if he won't be playing it"):
