English term or phrase: cow-catcher
Hi,

This is one sentence were "cow-catcher" is used : "Positions of ship's cow catcher during berthing on still water for HAT and LAT".

I understand what a cow-catcher is for trains and the french word would be "chasse-bestiaux" or "chasse-pierres" but for a ship I find it inadequate. Does anyone have ideas?

In case a specialist can answer I also have "abnormal straight line berthing" and "one-side angle berthing"

Thank you so much!
