Explanation:
Da eine Demenz ohne Plaques, nur mit Tau-Fibrillen (neurofibrillären Tangles, NFTs), inzwischen nicht mehr als Unterform von Alzheimer, sondern als eigene Form angesehen wird, ist es schwierig, Belege für den Ausdruck zu finden. Für "tangle-only" Demenz gibt es einen Eintrag im Lexikon der Neurowissenschaften von Spektrum, s. Link unten. Die Fibrillen werden wirklich oft auch auf Deutsch tangles/Tangles genannt. Ich schlage die obige Schreibweise vor und keine weitere Erklärung, das scheint ja auch ein Zitat aus der Arbeit von 2006 zu sein.
