Science - Geography
English term or phrase: head of the bay
XIX-wieczny opis wyprawy na Grenlandię. Ten termin pojawia się dość często, np.:

Redcliffe House is about fifteen miles from the head of the bay, and this distance had to be rowed, for we got no favoring breeze.

We were all pretty tired the next day, and Mr. Peary decided to wait another day or two before starting on a second hunting-expedition to the head of the bay.

In this way we finally reached the head of the bay shortly after six. We immediately set about putting up the tent and arranging our sleeping gear.

Definition of bayhead: the part of a bay that is most remote from the larger body of water with which the bay is confluent

A w odniesieniu do samego końca:

kraniec zatoki
