English term or phrase: facehugger
Definition from Wikipedia:
Fictional creature created by Dan O'Bannon and H.R. Giger, first appearing in the 1979 film "Alien". A facehugger is the second stage in the Alien's life cycle. It has eight long, finger-like legs, which allow it to crawl rapidly, and a long tail adapted for making great leaps. These particular appendages give it an appearance somewhat comparable to chelicerate arthropods such as arachnids and horseshoe crabs.

Example sentence(s):
  • As the name implies, the facehugger attaches itself to a host's face and implants what can best be described as an embryo. howstuffworks
  • Now, in their latest bizarre sighting, alien hunters say they have spotted a mysterious 'facehugger crab' on the red planet. Daily Mail
  • Australian and Japanese scientist have discovered an "alien" fish at the bottom on the ocean. They have named the deep sea animal after the fictional "face hugger" xenomorph alien from the 1979 movie Alien because of it's resemblance. The Canberra Times

Example sentence(s):
