Creo que puedo dar mi opinión desde 2 puntos de vista. Desde el lado traductor, en Google no hay resultados de "mono weighted lines" cuando se busca entre comillas mientras que hay más de 15 mil resultados para "mono-weight lines". Esto refleja una clara tendencia a cuál término es más usado.
Desde el punto de vista de ilustrador, "line weight" es la diferencia en el grosor de la línea, tal como se muestra en esta imagen: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/00/fc/b5/00fcb578c09444785c1736588... "Single line weight" se refiere a líneas cuyo grosor no cambia. En el recurso de Linotype en la pregunta se hace referencia, por ejemplo, al contraste en el grosor de la fuente "Alonga". En el recurso Logolounge se habla sobre la evolución del diseño de logos. En los últimos años, los logos se simplificaron, son diseños con colores planos y sin cambios en los grosores de línea.
