English term or phrase: testify
This belongs to the introduction done by a speaker just before the MC5 start the first song of their set (it can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONGBe0QLj_M). How could “testify” be translated in the context of a kind of revolutionary rock and roll 60’s concert? “dar testimonio” or “ser testigos” could be an option, but I’m not sure. Did “testify” have a different meaning in the USA in the 60's?

“Brothers and sisters! I want to see a sea of hands out there! [...] The time has come for each and every one of you to decide whether you are gonna be the problem or whether you are gonna be the solution! You must choose, brothers! It takes five seconds, five seconds of decision. Five seconds to realize your purpose here on the planet. It takes five seconds to realize that it's time to move, it's time to get down with it! Brothers, it's time to testify, and I want to know, are you ready to testify? Are you ready? I give you a testimonial-- the MC5!”

Thanks!

Spanish translation:ser testigos (en este contexto)
Explanation:
No creo que haya ninguna razón para elegir un término u otro. Testify quiere decir testimoniar, pero no queda bien en el contexto. Tampoco usaría prestar testimonio porque de inmediato se usa la palabra en el texto.

demostrarlo

Explanation:

https://dle.rae.es/cara?m=form2#AavkCGC

Creo que esta expresión encaja bien con la forma y el fondo del discurso y transmite la fuerza del original:
"...es hora de dar la cara, y quiero saber, ¿estáis dispuestos a dar la cara?"

Creo que ambos términos conviven bien porque dar testimonio es una forma de dar la cara en este sentido de adoptar una posición. Lo que no encaja con el tono es "Os doy/ofrezco", pero "Aquí tenéis un testimonio" va muy bien.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Me parece una buena opción, pero no sé si "¿estáis dispuestos a dar la cara?" encaja con el "Os doy/ofrezco un testimonio/Aquí tenéis un testimonio: ¡los MC5!" del final.
