French term or phrase: événements
The following is from a review of a website. I'm having a bit of trouble with the word "événements" which is un faux amis.

"ça manque d'animation dans les menus et les événements sont un peu trop mis en valeur avec un popup qui revient toujours."

Explanation:
It seems to me these are indeed 'events' that are being promoted too aggressively via the use of annoying pop-ups.

If you believe this is a faux ami, then you had better tell us what in your wider context makes you think that, and what your theory then is as to what these pop-ups contain?
