Well, it does help actually, inasmuch as we now know that both technologies are / may be in use, so you may need to avoid choosing a word that would be inapplicable to the one or the other technology. Unfortunately, that's not easy, as the termo tends to be mutually exclusive: you might have to resort to an a / b solution and let the client sort it out; techncially,ir probably doesn't matter very much, since the only time anyone will really need to know is if they have the machine in front of them...
