You may think the term posted is the least of my worries (!) but I find nothing to back 'discontinued speed' in this context:

Jean ont proposé une méthode dite de time-stepping (Moreau, 1994, Jean, 1995) où le pas de temps ne dépend pas des événements (comme dans les méthodes de type event-driven) et l’ensemble des forces de contact du système est déterminé de manière itérative.
Dans notre cas, une approche de ce type est retenue. La méthode proposée a été nommée A-CD2 (Atomized Contact Dynamics respecting Clausius-Duhem inequality) et consiste à schématiser toutes les forces (régulières) par une succession de percussions, de façon telle à décrire tous les efforts présents dans le système comme des percussions. La conséquence de cette atomisation des forces est que l’on représente l’évolution du système comme une succession de vitesses discontinues
