Law/Patents - Physics / exhaust gas purification
French term or phrase: boustrophédon
Context:

I`ve already discovered that this refers to writing in lines that alternate from left to right then right to left.
So, a sort of zig zag.
Any ideas how to translate into something of a technical nature?
TIA Chris.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you. Does it make any difference if I read your explanation backwards?

Asker: @ Phil. Back and forth indicates its continuing nature. Thank you.

Asker: just had reply from my nephew which you might find of interest. In this context ‘boustrophedon‘ means ‘back and forth’. In writing it means writing a line of text in one direction and then the other. In this context that shape of the groove is reversed. I think it’s used in channels for exhaust gasses to controls the velocity. 4 points will be duly awarded.

Asker: I`ve entered back and forth into glossary.
