French to English translations [PRO]
Science - Zoology / cattle feed & digestion
French term or phrase: de1h
This report is discussing ways in which cattle feed can be treated to make it less soluble in the rumen and therefore increase protein availability (bypass protein). This term occurs a few times, always in quite shorthand form. DT means degradabilite theorique [d'azote]:

Soypass : dt mesurée sur les vaches = 46%, dt estimée à partir de la de1h=39%
Tannin de châtaigner: mélange à 0.3 et 1.2 % avec un tourteau de soja: pas de diminution de la de1h
Tourteauplus: De1h identique à celle du tourteau formol en moyenne, dt mesurée sur vache variable selon les fabrications
Bisulphite de soude: incorporation de 2% de bisulphite avec tourteau de soja : - 19 points de de1h.

I cannot find any refs to this anywhere. I am assuming 1h means "1 heure", so it is perhaps some measurement taken after 1 hour. Given that DT refers to theroetical degradability, I have found that "enzymatic degradability" also exists. However, I still can't find any good references to "1 hour enzymatic degradability" in this context. The closest i have come is a "1 hour enzymatic test" but I would like further references to confirm, or discard this theory.

Thanks for your help.

Asker: (as an aside/for information) The DTN here seems to stand for Dissolved Total Nitrogen
