I know they are talking about how bucks rub their antlers against trees to remove the velvet, and I found that these marks on trees are known as "buck scrubs", but what is the verb in English for "rubbing antlers to remove velvet", i.e., the single word (verb) used by hunters, game breeders, etc. to describe this behavior?

Thanks, this was a very helpful suggestion. I asked a friend who is an avid deer hunter when I saw him yesterday at church and he told me "polishing", which is what I decided to go with, but your suggestion put me on the right track.
