Habitat
Le grillon d'Italie a été signalé en Belgique sur une pelouse calcaire mésophile, sur une pelouse calcaire xérique sur pente rocheuse à pelouse sèche, dans un vignoble, sur terrain vague avec Artemisia, sur une voie de chemin de fer abandonnée et dans un jardin à végétation haute. À l'étranger, l'espèce a été rencontrée dans les terrains rudéralisés le long des rivières, sur les pelouses calcaires, dans les carrières abandonnées, dans les vignes et au bord des routes.
