The vaccine should not be administered during nadir or if the participant encounters an acute infection with fever.


Question: Not sure how to translate this verb to avoid literality using the term 'encuentra'. Any ideas?

Se suele utilizar con mucha frecuencia el verbo "presentar" en un contexto médico con el sentido que preguntas. Mi opción para toda la frase sería: si el participante presenta infección aguda con fiebre. Es importante resaltar que "acute" en español no es sinónimo de breve ni de grave. aunque en inglés se utilice a veces con ese sentido.
