German to Dutch translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Architecture / plafonds
German term or phrase: stepped ceiling
Context:

he grand entrance lobby welcomes guest with a vaulted metallic ceiling, illuminated *****stepped ceiling panels*** and alternating bands of light and medium-toned marble flooring beneath.

Ik dacht aan getrapt plafond of iets dergelijks, maar dat is geen gangbare term.
Ze bedoelen zoiets: http://images-78.har.com/e1/mediadisplay/78/hr3262378-23.jpg

Weet iemand een vertaling?

Bij voorbaat dank.

Dutch translation:vals plafond
Explanation:
De brontaal is eigenlijk Engels, niet Duits. Zie de link voor plaatjes van "stepped ceilings". Het zijn dus valse plafonds, of plafonds voor indirecte verlichting

agree  Annemarie Weijer: ook wel "verlaagd plafond"

agree  Fred Scherf: een 'vals plafond' is weliswaar een term die gebruikt wordt, maar klinkt niet goed in deze context. Misschien iets als 'gelaagde plafonds'?
