cubitus varus and cubitus valgus or Ulnocarpal and Ulnoradial Explanation: बंसल चिकित्सीय शब्दकोश में एक अंग्रेज़ी शब्द cubitus (क्यूबिटस) दिया गया है जिसका अर्थ कोहनी, अग्रबाहु, हाथ है। इसी के अंतर्गत आगे बताया गया है कि यह दो प्रकार का होता है - cubitus valgus (क्यूबिटस वैल्गस) अर्थात बाँह की एक विकृति जिसमें अग्रबाहु बाहर की ओर घूम जाती है और cubitus varus (क्यूबिटस वेरस) अर्थात बाँह की एक विकृति जिसमें अग्रबाहु भीतर की ओर घूम जाती है। इन्हें हम क्रमशः बहिर्प्रकोष्ठीय और अंत:प्रकोष्ठीय कह सकते हैं। प्रसंगवश, cubital (क्यूबिटल) का अर्थ है अल्ना अथवा अग्रबाहु संबंधी, प्रकोष्ठीय। यहाँ दिए गए एक पर्याय अल्ना की खोज करने पर इसमें अंग्रेज़ी शब्द ulna (the medial and larger of the two bones of the forearm) भी मिला है जिसका हिंदी पर्याय अंत:प्रकोष्ठिका या अल्ना दिया गया है। इसका बहुवचन ulnae (अल्नी) है। साथ ही, ulnar (अल्नर) शब्द का अर्थ अंत:प्रकोष्ठिक है। Ulna (अल्ना) का अर्थ है अग्रबाहु की अंदर की एवं बड़ी हड्डी जो अँगूठे के विपरीत पार्श्व में होती है, अंत:प्रकोष्ठिका। यहाँ Ulnocarpal (अल्नोकार्पल) और Ulnoradial (अल्नोरेडियल) शब्द भी दिए गए हैं जिनका अर्थ क्रमशः अल्ना (अंत:प्रकोष्ठिका) एवं कलाई (मणिबंध) से संबंधित तथा अल्ना (अंत:प्रकोष्ठिका) एवं रेडियस (बहिःप्रकोष्ठिका) से संबंधित दिया गया है। |
