acquired by permission Explanation: This "might" be a reference to a provision in navneloven that now appears in Section 4, not Section 9: "6. navn som er en av steforeldrenes eller fosterforeldrenes etternavn eller mellomnavn, og vedkommende samtykker." I haven't found the version of navneloven that preceded this one. The latter took effect 1/1/2003 and has been amended since. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2012-10-18 11:36:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- eodd has it right, based on the source he cited (i.e., a translation of a previous version of navneloven), and my suggestion is wrong. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2012-10-18 11:52:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- eodd has it right, based on the link he posted to translation of the previous version of the act. My suggestion is wrong. Reference: http://www.lovdata.no/all/hl-20020607-019.html#4 |
