congelifraction Explanation: Magnus is correct. there are a few alternatives here. frost action is good, and wedging, bursting, shattering... gelifraction I like. I think "frost heave" is mostly related to soil, but not rocks. Reference: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/congelifraction |
