Norwegian to English translations [Non-PRO]
Names (personal, company)
Norwegian term or phrase: Gulbjorn
I'm doing research on my ancestors from norway and my great great grandmother's name was Gulbjorn Hanson. I need to know the rough english translation - and if its related to the english name 'Jenny' - to confirm with census records. Thanks!

Explanation:
This is the direct translation, but unless your great grandmother married a native American, I doubt that she would have just translated that name )which by the way is actually a man's name) My guess is that she changed her name completely to something that was easier for Americans to pronounce.
