centre of power Explanation: Power is one of the meanings of "kraft", and it might be a place of particular political or religious power, hence "centre of power" or "power centre". So if the convent is located in a parish with a particularly powerful bishop or something, it might be in a "centre of power". Hope this helps. |

powerhouse Explanation: As in "a spiritual powerhouse". A bit difficult without more context - but if the word is used to describe the convent itself rather than just its location, then this might fit. I've certainly heard churches described this way. |
