(Lidia Saavedra de Ortega) maternity center / maternal waiting home Explanation: Explanation: My understanding is that "sector" refers to maternity services. It's obviously not much of a "sede" because later it's referred to as a "puesto de salud." "Sede" may possible refer to the fact that it's the only maternity service in the area. so it's the "sede" of maternity services. It so happens that there a video online about the inauguration of this center. Because of my hearing problem, I can't understand all the explanations, but it may in fact be a 'maternal waiting home', which is a facility where at-risk women in remote areas can reside, sometimes with their families, until the baby comes. The video shows a lot of beds with night stands and a regular kitchen. It also shows delivery beds. (I translated a document on maternal waiting homes in 2017.) If the facility also offers prenatal checkups for all pregnant women, then it's not specifically a maternal waiting home and it would be safer to call it a maternity center. |
