Spanish term or phrase: ante la cual (problem with antecedent)
Hello, all.

I'm translating the following opinion article that criticizes Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and the way he is handling (or rather not handling) the pandemic and is instead focusing on electoral matters:

La ruta del Presidente
https://www.excelsior.com.mx/opinion/mario-luis-fuentes/la-r...

I'm having trouble with this paragraph. specifically the last part:

It is poorly written, IMHO. It's that "la cual," which I find so annoying when not used properly (and it's so common in Latin America... *sigh*)

What the heck is it supposed to be referring to? The pandemic? The violence against women? The reactivation of the economy? It can't be the violence because it literally says it is not going down... and then says "it" has been reduced. Argh!

Or perhaps I'm just tired and annoyed and not thinking straight. In any case, I will greatly appreciate your input!

Thanks in advance!

Explanation:
(the violence against women) is not declining, and the little that was being done beforeabout it has now been cut back even further.

Even less is being done about domestic violence today than before the pandemic, in other words. I hope this helps you to make a decent sentence.

Asker: Thank you very much! I can see it now. That "la cual" was throwing me off... I'm also very tired. I think I'll go take a nap now. Thank you! :)
