Spanish term or phrase: sufridera de empuje
It appears to the piece of metal that a blacksmith places below the piece of metal that he/she is working on. When i research I just see an anvil placed below metal. Here is the context:

Para poder ganar recorrido al pistón podemos sustituir la sufridera de empuje por una de menor grueso.

push broach holder
Explanation:
This is about broaches, as the heading informs. A broach is a metal cutting tool that is capable of cuttfing non-cylindrical, such as oval, hexagonal, keyways, splines, etc

There are many different types of broaching machines. Pull, push, horizontal and rotary.

The broaching tool is held in place with a collar-tyoe holder. The text suggests that the push broach could get greater depth of cut by using a holder with a thinner holder.

Thank you. Conflicting results when I researched meaning within this context. "Dolly" did come up more than once, but looks like your translation fits my context best. I rely on your years of experience within this specialization.

-> Thanks, Helen. 'Sufridera' was the sticky word, used in many contexts. It had to be deduced from the function of the equipment. It helps to be an engineer.

Reference information:
Broaching machine and its types:

Broaching is a method of removing metal by pushing or pulling a cutting tool called a broach which cuts in a fixed path.

In broaching, the tool of the machine is pulled or pushed through the surfaces to be finished. With the help of broaching, finishing is done on flat or contoured and either internal or external surfaces. Broaching is limited to the removal of about 6mm of stock or less.

I wanted to answer this question but didn't/don't have time. However, I came across the following information, which you might find useful:

The term broaching may have derived from an ancient Roman word braccus, which means an object having projecting teeth. The operation itself dates only to the 1850s when broaching tools when called “drifts” were hammered in blacksmith shops through the work or pushed with an arbor press.

Types of Broaching Machine
Following are the types of broaching machine:

Horizontal broaching machine
Vertical broaching machines
Surface broaching machines
Continuous broaching machine
Broaching machines are the simplest of all machine tools. Broaching machine consist of a broaching tool, a work holding fixture, a drive mechanism, and a suitable supporting frame. Although the component parts are few, several variations in design are possible.

There are two principal types of broaching machines: horizontal and vertical.

In addition to these standard types, there are special and continuously operating machines. Both horizontal and vertical types of machine have one or more rams depending on production demand. Dual-ram models are arranged so that when one ram in on the cutting stroke, the other is on the return stroke; the return stroke is performed quickly to gain time, which is used to unload and load the machine.
