rentals Explanation: I have no idea what these two seemingly random words mean either, but the sentence makes perfect sense if you leave out "de plataforma". Platform is often used as a fancy word for website - neilmac mentions Airbnb - but that doesn't appear to be the case here. I wondered if the idea was "pied à terre", but that's normally something you own rather than rent. |

(tourist) letting (platform) Explanation: I understand it to mean a "platform" (bit of a buzzword nowadays, rapidly getting old chez moi) for tourist rentals, sort of like air B&B, which also uses the term "platform", but maybe more upmarket (alta plusvalía). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 mins (2020-05-30 10:12:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Other versions such as "holiday rental platform/tourist letting platform, renting platform…" Are available. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 14 mins (2020-05-30 10:13:51 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- , So, we get something along these lines: "This made the purchase of houses for retirement accommodation and platform rental in tourist areas with high added value particularly attractive.." -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2020-05-30 19:35:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- For the benefit of any other doubting Thomases out there, here are three links exemplifying current use of the term "holiday rental platform" (others are available). https://medium.com/@salomeamao/ezystayz-sustainable-global-h... https://shorttermrentalz.com/news/a1vacationhomes-european-p... https://byownersglobal.business.site/ -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2020-05-30 19:37:22 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- PS: My answer is partly based on the assumption that the original authors put the word "platform" in there for a reason, however obscure it might seem. apartment rental / apartment letting Explanation: 'Alquiler' refers to rental; 'de plataforma' would be 'of platform', but in this example I think 'apartment letting' is appropriate. Example sentence(s):
