Spanish term or phrase: re-emisor (in this context)
SPAIN. From a text about the credibility of WhatsApp messages and social networks in general. I don’t have any more context in Spanish. The article was written in (very poor) English by Spanish authors, who obviously used MT to help them, albeit to little avail. This is one sentence that I had to ask them to send me in Spanish so that I could understand the idea they were trying to express.

“Esta credibilidad se sostiene en el re-emisor, quien es alguien de su propia red, lo cual genera confianza y credibilidad”

forwarder
Explanation:
Maybe. I imagine the "emisor" is the sender of an original message, and the "re-emisor" is the person re-sending

Or person forwarding, if you prefer, though I'm sure forwarder is a valid word these days.

Thought I might get at least one or two other suggestions… but this'll do nicely:-)

Example sentence(s):
  • WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will make it possible to know if a forwarded message was created by the forwarder or by another
  • Accountability of the forwarder*? In a way, this approach ensures that both intermediaries in this process – the medium of the message, as well as the person forwarding it, are not held accountable for the message.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I knew it was "the person passing on the message"... But couldn't decide on the Goldilocks option :-)
