I graduated in 1989 with a degree in Japanese from SOAS, University of London. Since graduation I have worked in management in industry as well as freelancing in translation. I lived and worked in Japan for many years, using Japanese as my working language in marketing and sales positions, as well as interpreting and translating for non-Japanese members of staff.
I have done translation work for clients on subjects ranging from ceramics (both tableware and tiles) to martial arts and the Japanese geisha culture. I have also worked as a pre-editor for Pearson on the Longman English-Japanese dictionary.
I have my own company, which acts as a marketing consultant for a range of clients and I use my language skills to write the copy for brochures, websites, press releases and advertising. My website can be viewed at www.sourcemarketing.net.
I am currently based in France, where I have been living since 2008 and can offer translation and editing skills from French to English as well.
