Source text - English Into a 250 mL round bottomed flask were added 5-bromo-3-iodo-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (8.00 g, 40.6 mmol) and 120 mL dry THF. The solution was cooled in an ice bath at 0 °C and NaH (2.40 g, 60.0 mmol) was added in three portions. After 20 min, p-toluenesulphonyl chloride (8.70 g, 45.63 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was allowed to warm to rt over 30 min. The reaction mixture was concentrated and hexanes was added to obtain a precipitate, which was collected and washed with ice cold 2M NaOH. The crude product was recrystallized from EtOAc/hexanes to afford 17.8 g (92%) of the title compound as a light tan powder.
Translation - Spanish Se le agregó 5-bromo-3-iodo-1H-pirrolo[2,3-b]piridina (8,00 gramos, 40,6 mmoles) y 120 mL de THF seco a un matraz de 250 mL de fondo curvo. La solución fue enfriada en un baño de hielo a una temperatura de 0 °C y se le agregó NaH (2,40 gramos, 60,0 mmoles) en tres porciones. Luego de transcurridos 20 minutos, se le agregó cloruro de p-toluenosulfonilo (8,70 gramos, 45,63 mmoles) y se permitió que la mezcla de la reacción se calentase a temperatura ambiente durante un lapso de 30 minutos. La mezcla de la reacción fue concentrada y se le agregaron hexanos a los efectos de obtener un precipitado. Este precipitado fue recolectado y lavado con NaOH 2M helado. El producto crudo fue recristalizado utilizando EtOAc/hexanos, para dar como resultado 17,8 gramos (92%) del compuesto titulado en la forma de un polvo de color canela pálido.
