El Bypass gástrico en “Y” de Roux por laparoscopia (BGYRL) y la Gastrectomía vertical laparoscópica (GVL) son dos de los procedimientos bariátricos más utilizados en la actualidad. En el presente trabajo comparamos de manera prospectiva ambas técnicas, con la finalidad de establecer si existe superioridad de alguna sobre la otra, basándonos en la morbilidad y la efectividad de cada una de ellas.
Desde Enero de 2008 hasta Diciembre de 2008, 117 pacientes obesos con indicación para cirugía bariátrica fueron asignados de modo no aleatorio a BGYRL (n=75) ó a GVL (n=42). Se determinó el tiempo quirúrgico y de hospitalización, la morbilidad, la evolución de las comorbilidades, y la pérdida del exceso de peso al año de posoperatorio.
Ambos grupos fueron comparables en cuanto a edad, sexo, índice de masa corporal, y comorbilidades. El tiempo quirúrgico promedio en la GVL fue de 85.1 min mientras que en el BGYRL fue de 96.8 min (p0.05). Al año de posoperatorio el BGYRL provocó en promedio una pérdida del exceso de peso de 86.7% mientras que para la GVL la misma fue de 78.8% (p>0.05).
Se concluye que en el corto plazo, ambas técnicas son comparables en cuanto a seguridad y efectividad, por lo que no hay un procedimiento que sea netamente superior al otro.
Translation - English Abstract
Background: Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (LRYGB) and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) are two of the most widely used bariatric procedures today. In this study we prospectively compared both techniques in order to establish whether there is any superiority of one over the other based on morbidity and effectiveness.
Methods: From January 2008 to December 2008, 117 obese patients with indication for bariatric surgery were non-randomly assigned to either a LRYGB procedure (n = 75) or a LSG procedure (n = 42). We determined operative time, length of stay, morbidity, co-morbidity outcomes, and excess weight loss at one year postoperative.
Results: Both groups were comparable in age, sex, BMI (Body Mass Index), and co-morbidities. Mean operative time of LSG was 85.1 min while LRYGB was 96.8 min (p < 0.05). Differences in length of stay, major complications, and improvement in co-morbidities were not significant (p > 0.05). One year after surgery, average excess weight loss was 86% in LRYGB and 78.8% in LSG (p > 0.05).
Conclusions: In the short term both techniques are comparable regarding safety and effectiveness, so not one procedure is clearly superior to the other.

Source text - Spanish Con la publicación del presente libro, se viene a llenar un prolongado vacío de nuestra historia del arte. Desde el investigador más exigente al simple aficionado, todo estudioso o admirador de los orígenes de nuestro pasado pictórico, cuenta desde ahora con un instrumento indispensable, largamente anhelado.
Antes de discurrir en torno a la temática que, en su sentido más profundo, sugiere el material publicado, permítasenos referirnos brevísimamente a los objetivos de la presente obra.
La voz catálogo significa: “lista de bienes culturales ordenada sistemáticamente. Registra, describe, evalúa e indica (generalmente en una forma completa) los fondos de una colección, institución, país o región. Cada entrada (ficha) contiene detalles y códigos para facilitar la ubicación del bien, así como los detalles suficientes para identificarlo y describirlo. Todo esto de acuerdo a un conjunto de normas establecidas”. La definición expuesta corresponde al Primer Seminario Andino de Inventario y Catalogación celebrado en septiembre de 1977 en Santiago de Chile, ratificada en el Segundo Seminario llevado a efecto en el Cuzco, Perú, en 1978.
El lector se encuentra ante un instrumento de esa especie y no debe exigirle otros alcances. Los bienes culturales son en él las telas o pinturas del período virreinal o inicios de la era independiente.
Al igual que el anterior, estamos ante una de las
ediciones más importantes publicadas en el país
sobre el atractivo tema de la pintura colonial. Este se adentra sobre las temáticas más medulares de nuestra plástica del pasado que se remonta al Primer Tercio del siglo XVII.
Translation - English The publication of this book fills a prolonged emptiness of our art history. From the most demanding researcher to the simple amateur, every scholar or enthusiast of the origins of our pictorial past now has a long yearned indispensable tool.
Before walking through the topics mentioned in its deepest sense on the published material, let us very briefly refer to the objectives of this work.
The word catalog means "list of cultural goods ordered systematically. It adds, describes, evaluates and indicates (usually in its entirety) the funds of a collection, institution, country or region. Each entry (index card) contains details and codes to help locate the goods and gives enough detail to identify and describe them. All of this according to a set of established rules." This definition is of the First Andean Seminar of Inventory and Cataloging held in September 1977 in Santiago de Chile, which was ratified at the Second Seminar held in Cusco, Peru, 1978.
The reader holds an instrument of this kind and should not demand more of it. The canvases or paintings of the early colonial period or beginnings of the independent era are the cultural assets enclosed in it.
Just like the previous one, this is one of the most
important editions published in the country about
the engaging theme of colonial painting. This book navigates the waters of the most important subject matters of our fine arts that go back to the First Third of the 17th Century.
