Bio
I own a translation/interpretation company in Brasilia, Master Language Traduções e Interpretação Ltda., which was awarded six prizes since it was set up in 1997 (the Top Excelência Empresarial Prize in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and the Top Qualidade Brasil in 2008, awarded by Companhia Nacional de Eventos (www.cianacionaldeeventos.com.br), the Top of Quality prize awarded by Ordem dos Parlamentares do Brasil in 2009 (http://www.ordemparlamentares.org.br), and the Gran Awards de Excelência de Qualidade 2011 prize awarded by the National Quality Institute (http://www.institutonacionaldequalidadequality.com/). We feel honored to have been awarded these prizes, but we are just a small pool of long-time colleagues devoted to doing their best and working hard every day. The company’s clients include Brazilian ministries and agencies, UN agencies, CIDA, IDB and international NGOs.

My actual background is in music (I perform regularly and was awarded the prize "Mapeamento da Nova Música Brasileira" (Mapping of the New Brazilian Music) by the Itaú Bank) and music therapy and my career as a free-lance translator began in 1973 in Rio de Janeiro, when I began to work for patent firms and the company Internacional de Engenharia.

As the son of a former FAO project officer, I was educated in international English-speaking schools from elementary to high school and lived in many different countries, including the US, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Holland.

I have been the official interpreter during many visits of foreign heads of State and ministers to Brazil, have worked in official international conferences organized by the Brazilian ministry of Foreign Affairs as interpreter and have translated official documents resulting from these conferences, such as the agreement between Brazil and the UN for holding the RIO 92 Conference and many other international agreements to which Brazil is a party.

I am a member of ABRATES (Brazilian Translators' Association).
