Bio: | James Wardell, Ph.D.
James Wardell has been a professional German-to-English translator since 1969. He holds a Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan. His main areas of specialization are pharmaceutical technology, chemicals and chemical engineering, banking and investment, intellectual property, automotive engineering, environmental technology and quality assurance. Dr. Wardell has been primarily active as an independent translator but has also worked in-house in major global enterprises. He makes extensive use of productivity and quality enhancement resources such as speech recognition, OCR, and CAT tools like MemoQ and also has extensive experience with SDL/Trados, Déjà vu and Star Transit. His outside activities include playing jazz baritone saxophone, flute and clarinet, gardening, nature study and hiking. He and his wife Bärbl Knorr reside in Regensburg Germany. |
