Japanese term

立ち上がり・沈み込み・押し出し

Japanese to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation skiing
These appear as examples of techniques which would once have been taught as part of a ski instruction course. My best guess is 'standing, crouching, and pushing out'.

standing up, sinking down, pushing out I think that the word "standing" expresses a state of posture, but the Japanese in the title express moving actions.

thanks thank you to all participants.
Wendy Uchimu (X) Apr 2, 2009:
I agree that you've got it right. The first one could also be 'standing up' as in after falling.

Looks like you've got it! The first one most likely means standing, but in context it could mean 'the start'. (Example: At the start, etc...) But the other two are indeed crouching and pushing out!
