the nucleus of the training course (or program / programme)

Example sentence:

Ingeciber gives specialized training courses of ANSYS, CivilFEM and Robot Millennium.

core of the program of studies

"Aprendizaje" translated as "program of studies in this context.

Translating this literally, I would agree to "core of the learning process".
However, given the context, and particularly the ending - "está constituido por dos proyectos estructurales de Hormigón y de Acero" - I think "aprendizaje" could be translated as "training program" or "course of studies". So my proposals are either "core of the program of studies" or "core of the training program". I'd like to add "didactic" to either of those: "the didactic core of the program of studies", but that would be embellishing too much.

The didactic core of the training program consists of courses in epidemiology, biostatistics, study design, research ethics, and scientific communication

Given the emphasis on completing two very practical-sounding projects, "hands-on" also seems to be the idea, but of course "the hands-on component of" wouldn't be a suitable translation for "eje vertebrador de".
