This appears in the description of an ecodesign project, carried out in a Spanish firm with the help of an Industrial Engineering student:
Proyecto:
Para la realización de la instalación, se ha partido de un sistema de energía solar térmica de baja temperatura, formado por una serie de ****baterías de colectores solares de tubo de vacío****, los cuales han constituido el grueso de los cálculos de la instalación, así como la mayor fuente energética renovable disponible para la empresa.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to translate this?

I think in this case 'batería' refers not to a 'battery' as such (see http://www.solarweb.net/forosolar/solar-termica/3307-numero-... but as a cicruit of solar collectors (the word 'group' seems to be in common use).
