Otro elemento importante para la observación de la relación entre sociedad y ambiente es el concepto de riesgo. Al entender los riesgos como socialmente construidos, la cultura aparece como **condicionante de la percepción y la construcción de amenazas.** Mary Douglas (1987) desde la antropología ha trabajado en este tema, explicando que la percepción del riesgo implica reconocer y aceptar la dimensión social del riesgo, considerando que este se relaciona con las creencias y visiones dominantes de una sociedad.

a determining/conditioning factor IN the development of risk constructs and perceptions
(1) I often translate "condicionante" as 'determining factor' or 'conditioning factor'
(2) The best preposition here would be 'in'.
(3) See discussion of 'construct' below. Because the word can be so easily confused with the common use of the word 'construction', I think its nouniness shows up better in the plural.
(4) It may be more common to speak of 'risks' to the environment.
Definition of the noun 'construct':
construct noun
A variable in a theory. Sometimes carries the connotation of something that cannot be observed directly, or which we suppose to exist but has not been measured yet. Similar in this sense to a latent variable. Intelligence is a construct that is used to explain competence.

Which impression does the source give in other areas - are the threats only implied or are they really 'constructed' to scare the people?
