| Thanks for your suggestions and comments. This sounds more authentically medical but could be ambiguous for the non-specialist and is a less literal rendering of the French, so I have chosen 'downstream'. |

: Surely that really translates 'far end', cf. 'proximal' = 'near end', wheras here, it is not 'all the way to the end', but 'just past'?
