AC / RT
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Cancer, mastectomy
This is the original phrase from a medical report of a female patient with breast cancer diagnosis and a mastectomy:
"Realizo ***AC*** x 4 + Paclitaxel semanal + ***RT***(finalizo 01/11/2012)
I am wondering whether RT could be related to radiation therapy? No idea what AC is.
Thanks in advance

AC / RT
It's the same, I think.
AC appears to be Adriamycin + Cytoxan
RT is presumably radioterapia (radiotherapy)
"AC-T (doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide followed by paclitaxel), also called AC-T and AC-Taxol, is a chemotherapy combination treatment used to treat breast cancer. It contains these medicines:
Doxorubicin (Adriamycin) - a type of chemotherapy medicine called an anthracycline
Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) - a type of chemotherapy medicine called an alkylating agent
Paclitaxel (Taxol) – a type of chemotherapy medicine called a taxane"

Note from asker:
Cheers Robert! This answer is quite helpful, the patient is obviously treated with this type of chemo. Thanks! |

This is quite a common combination for breast cancer:
