lower extremity run off
English to Spanish

Medical: Oncology
Instructions regarding cancer treatment
Should you start to have constant lower extremity pain at rest or develop lower extremity wounds, vascular surgery will be reconsidered at that time. We will cancel the CTA abd/pel with ***lower extremity run off*** and follow-up in 3 months.
Alguna sugerencia?
Esto es lo que encontré al respecto:
Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) offers the vascular specialist a rapid, widely available, and accurate means to diagnose and grade the extent of vascular disease in the acute care setting. In this pictorial essay, the key elements of lower extremity run-off CTA are reviewed, including relevant anatomy, imaging approach, and spectrum of imaging findings.

: how does "late phase" relate to "run-off"?

I looked up the term in Cosnautas and according to the website, the anglicism could be avoided and lists 5 cases of its translation. There was not much context and besides GabyMen had already provided a thorough explanation. I provided another meaning.

Saludos. "

de extremidades inferiores
Lower extremity run off hace referencia únicamente a la localización del angiotac (extremidades inferiores).
En este caso referido, creo, a un angiotac de abdomen, pelvis y extremidades inferiores (aorto-íleo-femoropoplíteo); "CTA abd/pel with lower extremity run off"; angiotac abdómino-pélvico y de extremidades inferiores [angiotac / angio-TC / angio-tomografía]

: this doesn't cater for "run-off"

2. Lower extremity vascular anatomy
The vasculature of the lower extremity can be divided anatomically into inflow (iliac), outflow (femoropopliteal), and runoff (tibial and peroneal) arteries. The inflow vessels consist of the infrarenal abdominal aorta that bifurcates into the left and right common iliac arteries at the fourth lumbar vertebral body [6,7]. While these vessels demonstrate relatively little anatomic variation, high bifurcation of the abdominal aorta (at the third lumbar vertebral body) is a vascular variant that is clinically important for abdominal and spinal surgery [6]. The classical arterial anatomy of the lower extremity is demonstrated in Figs. 1 and 2. Each common iliac artery is divided into an external iliac artery and internal iliac artery [8].

: Hola, liz.
