"Axxx wire permet aux émetteurs une diffusion instantanée de leurs informations"
I thought of using broadcasters, but this is more related to information distributed via the web, so not sure what term would be appropriate.

this doesn't have to do with news as such. I think "wire services" is still used in connection with web-based news sources (hey, there's another one!). i'm not aware of any term that refers back to the technology like "emetteur" except for webcaster/webcasting, but that doesn't have any direct reference to news. I guess "broadcasting" didn't really refer to news, either, except in the beginning when that was the most important thing being broadcast (like on radio).

IIRC the real equivalent for émetteur (or one, anyway) is "transmitter", and then what is transmitted is an "émission" (programme).

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer.
Comment: ""content providers" fits the bill nicely. Thanks"

Lacking a one-to-one fit for 'emitter' used so creatively in French, above may be possible for web applications...

This appears to be referring to the web equivalent of old-fashioned 'wire services'. Perhaps Axxx is one of those sites that allows any company that's registered with them to upload its press releases directly onto the web - ?
It certainly has nothing to do with 'broadcasting', transmitters, programmes, content providers, webcasting, etc., all of which terms are used primarily in connection with the delivery of radio/TV content on the web.
