Hi there, I am totally stumped on how to translate Einsatz in this context. I saw that this word has been asked about a few times already, but the answers given don't seem to be quite right in the gaming context. It seems to mean "input" or "contribution", but is there maybe a better word? What about "stake"?Many thanks!

Bet

In the example you give, David's "amount of the bet" would be good also. I am merely adding this entry because I think "stake" would be less common here.

"Half the bet is (considered) won, and half is lost."

agree Cilian O'Tuama : IMO will only work in the unlikely event that you don't need to differentiate between Wette (i.e. what you're betting on) and (Wett)Einsatz (the sum you're willing to risk)//Fair enough, will change neutral to agree - but don't see reason to avoid stake

well "50% of the bet" is unambiguous in that sense
